Q. Why do the products not have individual reviews and ratings?
A. We'd rather earn your trust with substance than with stars. Every product page publishes its complete ingredient list, and every active is supported by independent, peer-reviewed research — evidence you can verify yourself, not anonymous opinion you have to take on faith.
The broader review ecosystem has also become deeply compromised: Google alone removed more than 240 million policy-violating reviews in 2024, and the FTC now prohibits fake and purchased reviews by federal rule. We choose not to participate in a system that has lost the trust it was built on.
Southern women don't borrow their judgment from strangers — and we don't ask them to. Clarity over crowdsourced noise. That's the standard.

Q. What makes Southern Clinical Skincare different from other skincare brands?
A. Discipline. Every formula is built to clinical formulation standards, with each active chosen for a documented purpose and supported by independent, peer-reviewed research — no fillers, no trend ingredients, no marketing-driven additions. We publish complete ingredient lists because we believe you should know exactly what you're putting on your skin, and why.
We're also formulated for a specific place. Southern skin contends with heat, humidity, and UV nearly year-round - we call it the Southern Triad™ and it's what other skincare ignores. Our product line is designed for that reality rather than for a generic climate that doesn't exist.
The result is skincare that respects your intelligence: what works, why it works, and how it supports long-term skin health — nothing more, nothing less.
Q. Do you use sustainable packaging?
A. We prioritize materials that can be reused first, then recycled. Our products are housed in glass bottles and jars, packaged in our signature reusable burlap bags, and shipped using paper and cardboard. We use minimal plastic only where necessary. Our packaging is designed to feel elevated, long-lasting, and respect both your home and the environment.
Q. Are your products tested on animals?
A. We do not test on animals and we do not work with manufacturers or suppliers who engage in animal testing.
Q. Do you use "clean" or “non‑toxic” ingredients?
A. To be clear, it is illegal to use “toxic” ingredients, period! Contrary to popular belief, skin care products are strictly regulated by the FDA under the MoCRA regulation. Unfortunately, some brands have chosen to promote their products as only using “non-toxic ingredients” as a marketing ploy and scare tactic by accusing competitor brands of using “toxic chemicals”. We do not participate in this type of marketing. We focus on clinical efficacy, not marketing buzzwords or scare tactics. “Clean” and “non‑toxic” are unregulated terms, instead, we prioritize ingredients that are proven, purposeful, stable, and safe. Every ingredient serves a function — improving skin health, supporting barrier strength, or enhancing product performance. We avoid unnecessary additives, including fragrance, because they do not serve a clinical purpose and can irritate sensitive skin.
Q. In what order should I apply my products?
A. A simple, effective routine follows this order: Cleanse → Receptor Toner → Serum → Moisturize → Protect. This ensures each product performs at its highest potential.
Q. Can I use your products if I have rosacea, eczema, or acne?
A. Many of our formulations are designed with sensitive, reactive, or compromised skin in mind. While we cannot diagnose or treat medical conditions, our fragrance‑free, purposeful ingredient approach is often well‑tolerated by individuals with rosacea, eczema, or acne. If you have concerns, we recommend consulting your dermatologist to ensure compatibility with your specific needs.
Q. Are your products safe during pregnancy or breastfeeding?
A. Many of our products are suitable for pregnancy and breastfeeding, but some active ingredients — such as retinol — are generally avoided during these times. Because every situation is unique, we strongly recommend reviewing your routine with your healthcare provider to determine what is appropriate for you.
Q. Why do you not sell sunscreen?
A. Because we won't put our name on one until we can do it properly. In the U.S., sunscreen isn't a cosmetic - it's regulated by the FDA as an over-the-counter drug, with its own manufacturing standards, mandated SPF and broad-spectrum testing, and regulatory oversight well beyond what a serum requires. We intend to get that right rather than get to market. We hope to offer one in the future, but we won't promise a date we can't stand behind.
In the meantime: daily broad-spectrum SPF 50 is the most important step in a Southern regimen - the Southern Triad™ makes sure of it. Wear it every morning, all year round. Your dermatologist can point you to one that wears well in humidity.
Q. Why does Southern Clinical use glass bottles and jars?
A. Glass protects ingredient integrity, maintains product stability, and offers a more elevated, clinical‑luxury experience. It is also reusable, recyclable, and free from concerns associated with long‑term plastic storage. For us, glass is both a functional and intentional choice.
Q. Are your burlap bags reusable?
A. Yes! Our signature burlap bags are designed to be reused — for travel, storage, gifting, or everyday organization. They are durable, breathable, and a signature part of our Southern‑rooted packaging philosophy.
Q. Why don’t you follow skincare trends or viral ingredients?
A. Because trends fade — but clinical results endure. We choose ingredients based on evidence, stability, and purpose, not shifting popularity. Every formula is built to support long‑term skin health, not short‑term hype.
Q. How long does it take to see results?
A. Some clients notice improvements within a few days, especially in hydration and texture. For deeper, more measurable changes, expect 2–4 weeks of consistent use for the natural cellular turnover process of our epidermis. Skin responds best to steady, purposeful routines — not quick fixes.
Q. Can I use Southern Clinical products with my topical prescription?
A. If you’re using prescription treatments or strong actives, we recommend consulting your dermatologist, if you have concerns.
Q. Do your products work for all skin tones and ages?
A. Our formulations are effective across all skin tones and are categorized by age, beginning with age 18, to ensure the right level of active support. For example, retinol is included only in products for ages 30 and above, as younger skin typically does not need it. We do not recommend our clinical skin care for children under the age of 18.
Q. How long does it take for shipping?
A. Most orders are processed and ready to ship within 1–2 business days. Delivery times vary by location, with most customers receiving their order within 3–5 business days of their ship date.
Q. Do you ship internationally?
A. No. Southern Clinical Skincare ships only within the eleven Southern United States of Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, and Virginia as that is the region for which our products were created to be most effective.
Q. What is your return policy?
A. We offer a 30-day money back guarantee. Please click our Return Policy for complete details. If you have concerns about a product, please Contact Us first before initiating a return to give our team an opportunity to help you find the best solution.
Q. What if my package arrives damaged?
A. If your order arrives damaged, Contact Us immediately with photos of the packaging and product. Our Customer Care team will be happy to help you.
Q. Do you offer subscriptions or auto‑replenishment?
A. Yes! We offer subscriptions or auto-replenishment for all our products and you also receive a 10% discount! Choose a schedule that best suits your usage needs from 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, or six month options.
